“Blessed are the pure of heart, for they shall see God.”

St. Alphonsus de Liguori teaches us that impure speech is a grave
sin, and can spiritually harm those who utter it, and those who hear it. The
Church Fathers, St. Alphonsus and Our Lady of Fatima all agree that, ‘more souls
go to hell for sins of the flesh”, than for any other sins. The sin of impure
speech is so destructive that St. Alphonsus tells us to avoid uttering or
hearing it at all costs. The Bible says to “”Flee fornication”, which is why the
saints would leave the room immediately when curses, blasphemies and impure
words were uttered. St. Alphonsus tells us that we ought to turn our heads in
disgust when we hear immodest speech, and to make it clear that we hate such
language.
Sadly, the modern workplace has become an occasion of terrible sin. with obscene music, utterances, dress and conduct as the norm. Even though it can be a great sacrifice to find other work, we ought to leave those schools of Satan as swiftly as possible before we end up joining the devil in hell. We should ask for divine guidance, placing our trust in the compassionate hands of Our Blessed Mother and her Divine Son.
