Let Us Pray…

And when He was come to the place He said to them: "Pray, lest you enter into temptation. ’’ (St. Luke 2: 40)

"Let Us Pray" is a regular feature of Block Rosary Beads, offering you a different devotional prayer each issue. This issue:

The Rosary Of The Paraclete

Homage of Adoration to the Holy Ghost…. by Father Mateo Bovey Crawley (said using the five decade rosary of The Blessed Mother.)

Take your beads, and recite the Apostles’ Creed
After the Creed, very slowly and piously, the Glory be to the Father. Then say the "Our Father".

Now, very fervently, say the beautiful aspiration:
"Father, Father, send us the promised Paraclete through Jesus Christ, Our Lord. Amen".

Now, on each bead, instead of the Hail Mary, say with a burning heart:

"Come Holy Ghost, fill the hearts of Thy faithful, and enkindle in them the fire of Thy love".

After the tenth bead, recite the following official prayer: "Send forth Thy Spirit, and they shall be created, and Thou shalt renew the face of the earth’’.

Let Us Pray

O God, Who by the light of the Holy Spirit, has taught the hearts of Thy faithful Grant us, by the same Spirit, to relish what is right, and evermore to rejoice in His holy comfort. Through Christ Our Lord. Amen

Then recite the second decade and all the others, in the same way as explained, beginning at "Our Father…" Add two more decades, saying seven decades, one decade each in honor of the seven gifts of the Holy Ghost.

After the last decade, recite the "Hail Holy Queen" in honor of the Blessed Virgin, our Heavenly Queen, who presided in the Cenacle on the great Sunday of Pentecost.

Practices

Recite the Rosary of the Holy Ghost often, very often, even every day. Recite it especially on Sundays. When some important decision must be taken, at certain grave moments, and when special spiritual help is eeded.

As a preparation for the feast of Pentecost, this day witnessed the birth of the Bride of Christ. In your devotion, you should always keep in mind the essential: The first of all devotions must be to the Blessed Trinity, and therefore, to the Holy Ghost.
